MONMOUTH COUNTY NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE DONATIONS
FROM ST. GEORGE GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH IN OCEAN TOWNSHIP
Ocean Township– St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean, NJ offered donations to ten Monmouth County 501(C) 3 charities from the proceeds from of the parish’s 2nd Annual Jersey Shore Greek Festival which took place on the church property in June 2014. “These donations allow us to further our goals of outreach and Christian Orthodox Stewardship. These gifts, made on behalf of our entire Saint George Community, are our way of expressing our appreciation to the surrounding community at large for their support,” stated Fr. Andrew Eugenis, pastor. The total amount of donations were $7,000. The recipients of the 2014 Jersey Shore Greek Festival Outreach Fund are:

Presentations were made at St. George on Sunday, December 28th 2014 following the Divine Liturgy, at which time Father Andrew Eugenis, George Moutis, Festival Chairperson and Theo Ritorto, Festival Outreach Chairperson presented the checks along with a certificate of recognition to all of the recipients in front of the entire congregation.
This year’s Jersey Shore Greek Festival is scheduled to take place on June 26, 27, 28.

JERSEY SHORE GREEK FESTIVAL TO BE HELD JUNE 27, 28 & 29, 2014
Ocean Township – OPA! Be Greek for a day at the Jersey Shore Greek Festival on the grounds of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean, NJ. Traditional Greek food, music, dancing, culture and hospitality will be overflowing during the spectacular family event scheduled for Fri., June 27, Sat. June 28 and Sun. June 29.
The much anticipated festival is expected to draw thousands of visitors, as it did in its inaugural festival last year. Traditional Greek food will include Lamb, Gyros, Souvlaki, Spanakopita, Moussaka, Pastichio, and Greek beer and wine will also be served. Rain or shine, under the giant tent will be the place to watch the award-winning church dance troupe who will be dressed in authentic costumes. They will invite you to join them so bring your dancing shoes! Enjoy shopping at the Boutique featuring Greek jewelry, icons, Greek specialty items. Then rest your feet at our Kafenion with a cup of Greek coffee and authentic hand-made pastries such as Baklava and Karidopita. To keep the kids happy, games and rides will also be on-site.
Tours of St George, the beautiful Byzantine-style church, will be offered by members of the community and photos of previous festivals will be on display. The Greek Village style layout of the new Church and grounds will lend itself to a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The weekend will culminate with the drawing of the Ray Catena 2014 Lexus IS 250 Sedan Car Raffle! The tickets are $100 each, with only 1,000 tickets to be sold. To reserve your ticket visit the Festival website www.jerseyshoregreekfestival.com or contact the church office at 732-775-2777.
Admission to the festival is $2.00; children under 6 are free. A portion of the festival proceeds will be donated to charities in Monmouth County (Last year, more than $7,000 was donated).
The hours of the Jersey Shore Greek Festival are Friday, June 27 from 5pm – 11pm, Saturday, June 28 from 12 noon to 11pm, and Sunday, June 29 from 1pm to 8pm. Parking is free at Ocean Township Middle School and High School with free shuttle transportation all day. ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE DONATIONS FROM JERSEY SHORE GREEK FESTIVAL 2013
Ocean Township– St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean, NJ offered donations to five Monmouth Country charities with proceeds from its first annual Jersey Shore Greek Festival which took place on the church property in June 2013. The donations - earmarked for Monmouth County 501(c)(3) organizations – were given from the proceeds of the Festival. “These donations allow us to further our goals of outreach and Christian Orthodox Stewardship. These gifts, made on behalf of our entire Saint George Community, are our way of expressing our appreciation to the surrounding community at large for their support,” stated Fr. Andrew Eugenis, pastor. In receiving the donation on behalf of the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation, Director of Development Jean McKinney stated, "We are so grateful to be the recipient of the Jersey Shore Greek Festival Outreach Fund to benefit the Monmouth Medical Center's Pet Therapy Program. The program provides positive interaction that brings unconditional love from an animal to the bedside and we will be able to enhance the healing process for many more patients because of your generosity."

The Frances Foundation which strives to alleviate a child’s pain and suffering from cancer with a special gesture or a special moment. The Foundation also provides financial assistance to families needing help due to their child’s fight with cancer.
Monmouth Medical Center…a Barnabas Healthcare facility, is one of NJs largest academic medical centers. The donation received will be used to expand Monmouth Medical Center’s Pet Therapy Program which is designed to enhance the healing process for patients of all ages.
The Ocean Township Historical Museum is a cultural resource that invites residents of central New Jersey to learn and respect their regional past. It is the Museum’s mission to preserve all the artifacts that tell the history of Ocean Township and the surrounding communities. The donation will aid in the restoration of the water tower on site of this museum.
National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Oakhurst Chapter) is an organization whose vision and mission it is to create a world free of multiple sclerosis. The donation will be used to aid local families affected by MS with employment counseling, family programs, and outreach aid.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a sports ministry to athletes and coaches. The donation made will provide athletes and coaches within the F.C.A. organization with camp scholarships and to aid with high school and middle school sports and leadership camps.
