Be Greek for a day at the Jersey Shore Greek Festival on the grounds of St. George
Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean, NJ. Traditional Greek food, music, dancing, culture and hospitality
will be overflowing during this spectacular family event!
From rotisserie lamb, to moussaka, to Greek-burgers, gyro and grilled octopus, we'll have something to amuse every palatte! Visit our menu page for more info. Come and enjoy homemade Greek food that our parishioners are working hard to prepare. Come for the food and then stay for the entertainment. Beer and wine will also be served at our Spartan Brewery. Experience the love of life that Greek people have, also known as Kefi!
Kafenion and Sweet Treats
After the meal, rest your feet at our Kafenion (Cafe) with a cup of Greek coffee, Iced Frappe and your favorite Greek dessert. Our very own pastry-shoppe will be selling prepackaged cookies and sweets for take home enjoyment.
Exciting Entertainment and Events
The much anticipated festival is expected to draw thousands of visitors. Rain or shine, under the giant tent will be the place to hear the sounds of Greece (music and entertainment by International Sounds Inc. a favorite of the Tri-state area). Watch the award-winning church dance troupe who will be dressed in authentic handmade costumes. Get a glimpse of our GOYA Dance troop's first place performance here:
They will invite you to join them so bring your dancing shoes! Then, enjoy shopping at the Boutique featuring Greek jewelry, icons, Greek specialty items.
To keep the kids happy, the latest and greatest thrilling games and rides will also be on-site. Rock-climbing, trampolines, whirly-go, carnival games and bouncing to name a few. The little kids will also be fully entertained at their own Kiddie Corner with face-painting and carnival-themed activities.
Tours of St George, the beautiful Byzantine-style church, will be offered by members of the community and photos of previous festivals will be on display. This is the first Greek Festival at the new parish location at 1033 West Park Avenue in Ocean. The community is anticipating that the Greek Village style layout of the new Church and grounds will lend itself to a warm and inviting atmosphere.
